Announcing VIS Version 28

We’re excited to announce that VIS Version 28 is now RTM with build number 28.3016. This release focuses on strengthening security and usability while delivering a major improvement to IPIO device management.

Two key highlights in this update

• New User Management System
Starting with V28, VIS introduces a secure, centralized user management system. Self-registration is no longer supported — access requires a registered username and password, and all login actions are logged at the user level. VIS now runs on standard HTTP (port 80) to simplify access via the Visor UI, improving security and compliance with EU cybersecurity requirements.

• IPIO Manager 2.0 (Web-based)
The legacy IPIO Manager app has been replaced with a fully web-based IPIO Manager integrated into VIS. Users can now manage all networked IPIO devices directly through the Visor interface without launching a separate application. It’s also available for earlier VIS versions on request.

In addition to these headline features, V28 includes a range of bug fixes, expanded logging support for multiple IPIO video sources, and system improvements to interpreter defaults and admin disk-space visibility.
